About Us
We are Kendall and Tayla, the co-founders of ‘Our Mind Space Psychology‘. We are Clinical Psychologists who have an interest in working with adult ADHD. We met during our Masters of Clinical Psychology at the University of Wollongong.
We realised we had a similar passion and drive for working with adults in both individual and group settings, and that there was a huge gap within the field when it came to treatment for adult ADHD, particularly in group settings.
So we decided to create a group therapy program for adults living with ADHD symptoms, named ‘Doing ADHD Differently’. We first offered the group program through the University of Wollongong during our Clinical Psychology training in 2020.
We found that clients were interested and excited about attending a group program for ADHD that was educational, therapeutic and supportive. The group program provided participants the opportunity to connect with others who had similar experiences, it provided a safe space to try new skills, learn from others and be encouraged by other group members, and it offered a cost-effective opportunity to start learning psychological strategies without having to wait on a waitlist for individual therapy.
The group program also overcame a significant curve ball (Covid-19!) and transitioned from being a face to face program, to being offered via telehealth at the beginning of the very first lockdown in 2020. We were so pleased that the group was run successfully both via telehealth and face to face.
We were so inspired by the success of the group, that we knew we couldn’t let this opportunity pass us by. After working for a few years in the field of psychology, we decided to bring our ADHD group to the wider community.
We are both energetic, dedicated, passionate and kind people, who aspire to provide people living with ADHD symptoms the opportunity to access evidence-based group therapy programs, connect with others who may be experiencing something similar, and learn new skills and strategies to meet your goals.
